The Effect of Religious Hazards in Health among Menstrual Women - A case of Far-west Nepal

Abstract
Nepal is greatly diversified country in terms of language, culture, religion and various cosmologies. Majority religion is Hinduism. Religion is considered as everything. The life from the morning to the sunset, ritual sacraments are associated. Untouchability is one of the crucial issues existing in Hinduism since early. Religion is regarded as all and all. Hindu women become untouchable during the menstruation period. Five to seven days they leave the house and live in the shed, which is built for the Chhaupadi women. The shed is located far away to maintain holiness in the family. During the period the family members less care the women. They cross the several spans in day-to-day lives. Chhaupadi trend is one of the ever discusses issues in the field of women¡¯s right in Nepal. Religion is the paramount of life in all functions, but effect of religion on health is out of imagination. So, this study attempts to explore the effects of the religious hazard in health among menstrual women in the far-west region, Doti district of Nepal. The study discusses the effect of religious hazards in health of menstrual women as an individual and group or community. The practices of religion are significantly affecting the health of menstrual women. There is a significant effect to the menstruating women¡¯s health during their impurity period because they are prohibited to entertain their daily lives.
